Inuit Soapstone Sculpture, Sitting Canada Goose, Ali Tuttu AmittuThis is an old sculpture, circa 1950's or 1960's, in very good condition. A large piece, carved in pale green stone. Signed very faintly on the base in syllabics and disk number, by the artist Allie Tuttu Amittu (1926 1983). Known as Allie Awp he was a first generation Inuit artist, from the community of Puvirnituq, located in Nunavik. Ali (Allie) was known for great detailing in his work. The Nixon line of retro time pieces is fabulous but a bit pricey and honestly, I don't know if they make a quality product. Citizen watches have a proven track record of quality and have been around for decades. This watch is perfect if you're looking for that 1970s throw-back look in a quality timepiece.
